New York Life Foundation Makes $16,000 Grant Recognizing Local Volunteer Service

Grants for Good Program Supports Community-based Nonprofits 

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, Jan. 15, 2015 — Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico announced today that it has been awarded a New York Life Foundation’s Grants for Good - Individual Grant in the amount of $16,000 to recognize the volunteer service of James P. Baxter.  This grant program encourages and supports the volunteer involvement of New York Life employees, agents and retirees in community-based nonprofit organizations.

Since 1952, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico (BGCCNM) has provided at-risk children, between the ages of 5 and 18, with a safe place to learn and grow. Currently the Club serves over 2,500 children in its Albuquerque and Rio Rancho Clubs, providing them with state-of-the-art programing administered by highly trained staff. Club members learn leadership skills, explore career opportunities, and become healthy individuals who are ready to tackle tomorrow’s challenges.
